Have your attitudes about “Wedding” Music changed over time ?

A favorite category of music for Weddings is the HUGE amount of great upbeat songs from the 80’s.

Yet if you look at what was a HIT at the time, you may be surprised by some of the titles.
But first let’s look at what is TODAY the MOST requested 80’s party songs according to a
survey of DJ’s. ….. You probably won’t be surprised to learn it’s “Don’t Stop Believin .”

That may seem obvious NOW, but let’s look at what was actually “Hot” DURING the 80’s.
What may surprise you is that the ONLY song that spent 10 weeks at # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 was Olivia Newton John singing “Physical,” a song that can’t even crack the Top 100 of DJ’s 80’s Music today.

The Runner-ups were Kim Carnes singing “Bette Davis Eyes” and Diana Ross & Lionel Richie’s rendition of “Endless Love” – each spent 9 weeks at the top of the charts.
So where was “Don’t Stop Believin” all that time ? ….. It never could crack the Top Five for even ONE week.

If you’re not Popular today – just wait 40 years – Things will change !
And your attitude about Music may change ….
